armoured kar

This one popped up at a thrifty store with an almost too hip price- a quick look on E-Bai revealed someone getting five times that price for the same kit-still tempted to build the goofy thing though-Mr.Red Primer

Ford Field Guide 1932-1953

PRODUCTION halted by WWII

1932 Ford Phaeton loboy 1

This Deuce ragtop was done up with added patina and the first layer of weathering-vintage original thin whitewall Firestones are riding on generic AMT baby moons-stay tuned for final finished version of this one-Mr. Red Primer

195x Plymouth Snaptogether

This kit has popped up on a few blogs done up in a different style-it's a simple snap kit that is seen occasionally in the sale part of the shop for cheap-it comes with lowrider twenties with very thin tires but here it's sitting on some whitewalls from a Ford roadster metal kit-a sixpac of Strombergs replaces a blower on this build and the stance has been radically dropped-it's tempting to repaint it but the silver and red scheme mocks a Chrysler bodystyle like the haunted title car from "Christine"-Mr.Red Primer

JEEPS i

Bob Crane was great as Hogan, and of course the film about him was weird but hot-It's been a pleasure to work with his son Scotty in the rocknroll business, it was he that engineered Pat Wright's soul-gospel version of Jesus Christ Pose- regardless of rumors about The Cranes or John Banner or even Werner Klemperer (who as a European Jew took cruel delight in playing Colonel Klink) the show put lots of WWII gear on TV, including a jeep kit created as a spinoff of Hogan's Heros. Too bad there isn't a Schulz' BMW kit or Burkhalter's 'cedes: at least Rommell was immortalized with one of those oddly 1/24th (WHY 1/24TH!!???????!!!!!!!!????)half track Benzos complete with Benz motor that will be hotrodded: (check sidebar: it will be joined by a rat rodded early Lincoln on large wire wheeled- white walls.

Pretty sure I had this kit as a youth in California, and I'm glad it comes with military accessories for another project, and lots of gaudy parts for a Philipines style Jeep taxi-It was one of the first kits I got on this recent binge of model building (keeps me off the streets)several years ago and it was finished in khaki enamel with a flat black chassis-the stock knobby tires are great, and detail in general is pretty good on this one: recently found a cheapy used dupe kit and the knobby tires were gone from the kit but replaced with very cool oversize tires with detailed tread that will be great to give some of these truck rebuilds a higher stance-the second Jeep was finished in a shade of Tamiya flat brown, and gray primer, and was built as a hiboy with styrene channel added to the leaf springs-the tires are Firestones with some Lindberg knobby tires in the rear-the Jeeps are not weathered or detailed yet-Mr. Red Primer
